About People in Need (PIN)
People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-profit, non-governmental organization providing humanitarian and development assistance in over 20 countries worldwide. Active in Laos since 2023, PIN supports disaster risk management, particularly Early Warning Systems (EWS), in partnership with local authorities.
Position Overview
The Project Officer (PO) will support the Early Warning Systems (EWS) project under the Laos Country Programme, ensuring effective delivery across nine target provinces. The PO will coordinate field-level activities, monitor progress, and liaise closely with provincial and district authorities, project partners, and communities.
Main Responsibilities
EWS Project Support

Support planning, coordination, and implementation of field-level and capacity-building activities.

Conduct regular monitoring visits and provide updates to the EWS Project Manager.

Maintain communication with provincial authorities (PoNREs) and local stakeholders.

Represent PIN in meetings, workshops, and community events.

Ensure timely documentation of activities, reports, and lessons learned.
Finance and Administration

Work with Finance and Operations teams to process expenses and maintain proper documentation.

Support budget forecasting, planning, and revision processes.
Accountability and Safeguarding

Uphold PIN’s Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies.

Monitor safeguarding measures and deliver related awareness sessions.

Promote community feedback and response mechanisms (CFRM).
Other

Contribute to proposal development.

Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in development studies, public administration, or related field.

Native-level Lao and at least B2-level English proficiency.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (project support, administration, or DRR sector).

Strong coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to draft official letters in Lao and English.

Willingness to travel frequently to rural and remote areas.
