Position Title: Finance Officer – Nam Poui, WWF-Laos
Location: Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR

Position Summary
The Finance Officer – Nam Poui will be based in Vientiane Capital and is responsible for providing financial support to all projects under the Nam Poui Priority Site and the IWT Programme. The position ensures that all financial requirements are met in line with WWF-Laos and Greater Mekong financial systems, policies, procedures, and Lao legal requirements, with transparency and accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry in the ORACLE system according to regional finance team guidelines and timelines, with technical support from the WWF-Laos finance team.

  • Assist in developing, monitoring, reviewing, and updating project finance and accounting activity work plans.

  • Provide technical guidance, training, and coaching to project staff, partners, and government counterparts on finance procedures and compliance.

  • Support the Project Manager and Site Coordinator in managing third-party contracts to ensure compliance with organisational and legal requirements.

  • Monitor and manage contracts, keeping line managers informed of deadlines and extensions.

  • Reconcile and review the monthly Trial Balance, check ledgers and accounts, identify errors, and take corrective action in consultation with the line manager.

  • Review and import project financial data into ORACLE.

  • Produce monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual financial reports for the Project Manager, Site Coordinator, and donors.

  • Record daily transactions, prepare intercompany AR-AP invoices and billings, and manage calls for funds according to donor requirements.

  • Ensure proper filing of all finance documents and upload to the online monitoring system as required.

  • Provide supporting documents and assist with internal and external audit processes.

  • Track and monitor project data in the GMS system.

  • Support departmental functions during peak reporting periods and tight deadlines.

  • Carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field.

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in finance and accounting administration, with a focus on budgeting; experience with international NGOs is desirable.

  • Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Oracle.

  • Good command of written and spoken English.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of local finance and accounting systems, laws, and regulations.

  • Basic knowledge of international finance and accounting standards.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions.

  • Understanding of finance and accounting practices within INGOs in Laos.
