Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Environmental Monitoring, the Officer – Environmental Monitoring supports the implementation of environmental monitoring activities at the Sepon Project for both gold and copper mining operations. The role assists Monitoring Advisors and other Environmental Officers in meeting the project’s environmental monitoring requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily environmental monitoring of air, water, dust, and aquatic biota.

• Calibrate and operate monitoring equipment.

• Participate in planned training activities.

• Report environmental observations and safety incidents promptly.

• Maintain high safety standards in the field.

• Lead field teams and execute monitoring tasks based on approved work plans.

• Prepare weekly and monthly monitoring reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in environmental monitoring programs.

• Skilled in surface and groundwater collection methods.

• Proficient in written and spoken Lao.

• Basic ability to read, write, and speak English.

• Valid driver’s license (B).
