Duration of Assignment: 8-months (Contract end date: December 31, 2026)

Working Hour: Monday to Friday, 7:30 – 16:00 

Saemaul Foundation (SF) is a non-profit organization established by Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government of the Republic of Korea. It has shared Korean experience to contribute the promoting of rural development and poverty eradication in developing countries.

The Saemaul Foundation Lao PDR Office is currently seeking an Administrative and Project Assistant to join our team and contribute to the Saemaul Pilot Villages Development Project. The successful candidate will support project implementation with the following details:

Job purpose: Administrative support and project management to support the operation and implementation of projects of the Saemaul Foundation Lao PDR Office

The Role and Main responsibilities (Administrative and Project assistant):

  • Implementation of rural development project activities in both field and the office.
  • Collect and input of survey results and project performance data
  • Interpret both verbal and written document from English to Lao and vice versa
  • Prepare official document to submit government partners, including visa applications, operation permits, MOUs, reports, etc.
  • Communication and coordination with the Lao government and partner organizations related to project activities
  • Prepare for meetings with the Lao partner organization and events such as visits from guests related to the project
  • Market research and purchase of items required for the project
  • Negotiate and draft contract with the suppliers, companies, research centers or any other business entities to support procurement of materials, machinery, and related services
  • Coordinate with training institution or external organization that relates to project activities.
  • Provide administrative support as requested
  • Travel to the project site and work closely with the local community

 

Requirement:

  • Bachelor degree in Agriculture, social work, community development, or a related field
  • Relevant work experience with international NGOs or development programs in Laos 
  • Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Korean is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills with partner organizations including Lao government and the ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, writing, listening, and reading)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Fluent in Lao language;
  • Flexibility, responsiveness, and adaptability to rural community environments

 

Salary

  • In accordance with internal regulations.

  • Employment Contract Signing & Start of Work: 1st April 2026 or 20th April 2026
