SOS Children’s Villages Laos is a Member Association (MA) of the SOS Children’s Villages International federation, which is one of the largest non-for-profit organization in the world dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people without parental care or at risk of losing it.  SOS Children’s Villages Laos has been active in the country for more than 30 years. Through its program interventions in 6 provinces, SOS Children’s Villages Laos provides family like care, protection, education and community-based programs to hundreds of children and youth.

Data & Program Officer

 

Location:  SOS Children’s Villages Xiengkhouang, Laos.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

 

Data management:

  • Maintain and improve data quality by strictly following PDB2 guidelines (case management guidelines) and DQA tools.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly data entry and verify key data using the required formats before submission to National M&E for validation.
  • Participate in monthly PDB2 and RBM meetings to track, review, and update key achievements (indicators), identify bottlenecks, and document lessons learned from project implementation.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly data cross-checks (DQA status) between system data and village records, and update findings via M&E SharePoint.
  • Support the organization and delivery of DQA training sessions and contribute to annual Data Quality Assessments (DQA).
  • Collect, analyze, summarize, and report data from dashboards, Compass reports, and RBM monitoring tools for monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reporting.
  • Participate in ad-hoc meetings to review, verify, and correct data errors or inconsistencies.

Assistant Village Director:

  • Support the Village Director in the preparation of annual plans, budgets, reports, and IT-related matters.
  • Assist in monitoring the implementation of village programs to ensure alignment with organizational standards, policies, and objectives.
  • Coordinate with the M&E team to ensure timely and accurate data reporting, in compliance with PDB2, DQA, and RBM requirements.
  • Support the supervision and capacity building of village staff to strengthen program quality and effective data management practices.
  • Provide support for IT infrastructure, including maintaining office computer systems and ensuring their long-term functionality and efficiency.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the village and donors/sponsors, including translation of documents and interpretation during face-to-face meetings.

Person Specification

  • Willing to travel as and when required.

 

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT).
  • Should have minimum work experience of 03 – 05 years in data Management with 2 – 3 years at management level either in corporate or not for profit Organisation.
  • Good analytical skills and experience to manage data.
