Role Overview
- Organization: UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund)
- Location: Lao PDR
- Assignment Type: National UN Volunteer (Expert category)
- Duration: 12 months (standard UNV contract)
- Goal: Support the 7th Country Programme (2022–2026) by fostering strategic partnerships and mobilizing resources to achieve “three transformative results”: zero maternal deaths, zero unmet need for family planning, and zero gender-based violence.
Key Responsibilities
The Specialist will work under the Partnership International Expert to:
- Strategic Growth: Identify and establish new partnerships with the private sector, government counterparts, and development partners.
- Intelligence & Analysis: Conduct donor intelligence analysis and prepare partnership briefs to align with the ICPD25 agenda.
- Advocacy & Communication: Support the communication team in documenting best practices, managing donor visibility, and participating in media relations/major events.
- Operational Support: Update partnership monitoring tools, proofread donor reports, and maintain the overview of partnership submissions.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in partnerships, donor relations, or communications.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Media, or Communication.
- Languages: Native Laotian and fluent English are required.
- Key Skills: Strong drafting and reporting abilities, computer literacy (MS Office), and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): USD 9,796 for 12 months (approx. USD 816/month).
- Entry Lump Sum: USD 400 (one-time payment).
- Exit Lump Sum: USD 68.02 per month served.
- Additional: Comprehensive Health and Life Insurance and a Dependent Allowance (if applicable).
