Shanti Volunteer Association (SVA) is a Japanese non-governmental organization (NGO) which has implemented aid projects in the field of education and culture since 1992 in Lao P.D.R. Currently, SVA Lao office is seeking a qualified full-time Lao national staff to work on projects such as Reading Promotion, School Construction, Improving Lao Language Teaching, and Learning Environment for Primary Education in Luang Prabang province.

Duty Station: SVA Luang Prabang office
Starting Work: As soon as possible

Main Duties & Responsibilities (Under the supervision of Deputy Director):

  • Make plans for project activities such as surveys, meetings, workshops, and monitoring based on project log frame, operation plan, and budget.

  • Write project proposals.

  • Implement project activities in cooperation with other project staff members.

  • Develop survey formats, collect and input data, and analyze results.

  • Correspond with counterparts and other organizations to prepare meetings, activities, and monitoring for smooth project implementation.

  • Translate project documents and interpret at meetings between Lao and English.

  • Write reports of activity implementation and financial use for both internal and external purposes.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Education.

  • 1–2 years (or equivalent) experience in teaching (primary level) or project implementation in education preferred; newly graduates are also welcome.

  • Fluent spoken and written English skills.

  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Able to travel frequently to districts in Luang Prabang and other provinces.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

  • Fluency in Hmong or Khumu language is preferable.
