The Senior Programme Coordinator will work closely with WASH team members, government counterparts and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of WASH programme interventions. This role provides technical support and leadership for WASH activities, strengthening collaboration with government, communities, and development partners. The position also supports quality WASH construction, coordination across project teams, and reporting requirements.
Major Responsibilities
Planning and Implementation

Develop detailed implementation plans in consultation with MEAL Coordinator, WASH technical specialists and other team members.

Lead and manage WASH activities in coordination with partners and stakeholders.

Support the specification and procurement of WASH-related materials to meet quality standards within agreed timelines.

Facilitate and track the progress of WASH activities on a regular basis.
Monitoring and Support

Build the technical capacity of government counterparts, stakeholders and staff for effective implementation.

Identify issues, provide recommendations and ensure timely solutions.

Monitor and track all activities, maintain records and provide progress updates for decision making.

Work with MEAL Coordinator to ensure the use of the mWater tool for data collection and monitoring.
Collaboration and Coordination

Build and maintain responsive relationships with communities, government stakeholders and partners.

Collaborate with WASH partners at national, provincial and district levels to identify priorities, develop guidelines and share lessons learned.

Facilitate consultation, review, reflection and annual planning meetings with partners.

Represent World Vision Laos in technical working groups, networks and forums related to WASH.
Documentation and Reporting

Establish effective monitoring, documentation and communication systems.

Provide timely reports and information to supervisors and stakeholders.

Document lessons learned and good practices from WASH programming.
Required Education and Professional Experience

Minimum of three to five years’ experience implementing WASH interventions at community level.

At least two to three years’ experience in MEAL, WASH or related sectors.

Strong skills in community engagement, facilitation and partnership.

Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Capacity building and technical support experience.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Knowledge of project management and WASH approaches in poverty alleviation and community development.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Fluency in English and preferably Lao language.
Travel and Work Environment

Willingness and physical ability to travel to districts and remote villages, including overnight stays in communities when required.

Decisions are made in line with the Level of Authority and in consultation with the immediate supervisor.
