INTRODUCTION TO GGGI<\/h3>\n

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies.<\/p>\n

POSITION OVERVIEW<\/h3>\n

The Senior Project Associate, Green Investment, will primarily support the execution of GGGI Lao PDR\u2019s green investment initiative implemented through the Green Climate Fund (GCF) funded \u2018Collaborative Research and Development Business (R&DB) Programme for Promoting the Innovation of Climate Technoprenuership\u2019 and will support the overall investment work in the country office. The successful candidate will support the implementation of key green investment and finance mobilization activities, green business development services, business acceleration, and resource mobilization of the country office.<\/p>\n

PURPOSE<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Identify and connect with green and inclusive climate tech companies and private sector entities.<\/li>\n
  • Provide technical assistance to the private sector and green businesses to promote technology and knowledge transfer.<\/li>\n
  • Support the development of collaborative business partnerships and communications with key stakeholders.<\/li>\n
  • Provide technical input on the delivery of green investment mobilization by contributing to activities such as, but not limited to, project ideation, investor engagement, and support project pipeline development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    ENGAGEMENT<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Maintain and foster strong relationships with key private sector partners, and relevant entities.<\/li>\n
    • Work closely with government partners (e.g. Agriculture and Environment, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, etc.) and private sector in implementing project activities and identifying programmatic needs recognizing the importance of government buy-in and private sector engagement.<\/li>\n
    • Support coordination with other development partners and financial institutions for project pipeline development and stakeholder engagement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      DELIVERY<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Deliver technical assistance to the private sector, operationalize a national Sustainability Management Unit, manage capacity building trainings and knowledge sharing activities, support green businesses to promote technology and knowledge transfer and development of collaborative business partnerships under the GCF funded project.<\/li>\n
      • Support the identification, mobilization, and engagement of climate technopreneurs and other green businesses under the GCF funded project and maintain regular communication with the companies involved in the project.<\/li>\n
      • Foster regular communication channels with financial institutions such as NHIS and NH ARP to liaise and promote information-sharing with each other.<\/li>\n
      • Contribute to project monitoring and reporting for the GCF funded project.<\/li>\n
      • Provide support to the delivery of green investment mobilization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        REQUIREMENTS<\/h3>\n

        QUALIFICATIONS<\/h4>\n
          \n
        • An advanced university degree (master\u2019s degree or higher) in economics, business administration, finance, sustainable development, or green growth.<\/li>\n
        • Preferably 4 years of work experience related to green business development support, startup acceleration, roll out of climate technology, or delivery of green\/sustainable finance projects.<\/li>\n
        • Understanding of the Lao private sector, entrepreneurial ecosystem, or startup acceleration is desirable.<\/li>\n
        • Experience in developing investment teasers, pitch decks, or other products that support matchmaking between business owners and financiers is a strong asset.<\/li>\n
        • Experience or knowledge of gender inclusivity or gender responsive technical assistance for business development is highly desirable.<\/li>\n
        • Private sector experience, and\/or a wide network in the private sector of the Lao PDR is an asset.<\/li>\n
        • Experience in financial modelling is an asset.<\/li>\n
        • Experience working with National and sub-national government preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              WORKING CONDITIONS<\/h3>\n

              The Senior Associate, Green Investment, GGGI Lao PDR is an X7 grade level in GGGI salary scale. Determination of base salary is subject to candidate’s experience, academic background and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan\/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
