Introduction<\/strong>
\nEstablished in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations and the leading UN agency in the field of migration. Organizational Context and Scope<\/strong>
\nThe International Organization for Migration (IOM) Lao People\u2019s Democratic Republic supports safe, orderly, and humane migration in alignment with national priorities and international standards. Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes and direct supervision of the National Health Project Officer, the successful candidate will provide full support on the implementation of Migration Health activities in IOM Lao PDR.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Assist National Officer in liaising with Government and non-governmental partners to ensure effective implementation of project activities.<\/li>\n
  • Assist on individual project activities and local partnerships including liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties; community outreach and direct assistance to migrants.<\/li>\n
  • Assist with capacity building for relevant government authorities, private sector, civil society organizations, and health volunteers.<\/li>\n
  • Liaise with national project counterparts as necessary, including but not limited to, the Ministry of Public Health authorities, civil society organizations, Implementing partners, health volunteers etc.<\/li>\n
  • Support in facilitating inter-agency meetings such as UN Migration Network (UNMN) Sub-Working Group including convening the meeting, scheduling, producing related documents and meeting minutes, and making logistical and administrative arrangements.<\/li>\n
  • Travel to project implementation areas and support field monitoring, activities implementation, and organization of relevant events.<\/li>\n
  • Assist Disease Surveillance Teams and implementing Partners in target locations in preparation of conducting health activities among migrant communities.<\/li>\n
  • Take minutes and notes, record and compile relevant migration health data, information and findings.<\/li>\n
  • Support in project implementation, such as delivery of materials and services, and liaise with in-house operational support (Procurement, Finance, Operations, and HR units) in terms of administrative and financial issues.<\/li>\n
  • Carry out informal translation of documents (English to Thai\/Lao) and other communications\/materials as required.<\/li>\n
  • Support Project Manager and Project Coordinator in donor reporting by regularly collecting data and updates from implementing NGOs.<\/li>\n
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Education:<\/strong> Bachelor\u2019s Degree in public health, social science, international relations, political science or relevant field, with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.<\/li>\n
    • Experience:<\/strong> Experience with project implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and respect diversity. Working experience in area relevant to migration and\/or human rights issues is a strong asset.<\/li>\n
    • Skills:<\/strong> Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills. Strong organizational, coordination, and time management skills. Computer literate.<\/li>\n
