Background
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Lao PDR is seeking a National Consultancy Firm to produce an accessible video on “Understanding the UN CRPD”. This initiative supports the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MoLSW) and the National Committee for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) to raise awareness and promote the rights of persons with disabilities in Lao PDR.
Scope of Work
The consultancy firm will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Task 1: Content Development and Pre-production – Review CRPD content, develop a concept note, script, and storyboard in consultation with NCPD and UNDP.
- Task 2: Video Production – Produce a high-definition video with accessible features including Lao Sign Language (LSL) interpretation, Lao and English subtitles, voiceover, and simple animations.
- Task 3: Finalization and Delivery – Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and deliver the final optimized video files.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in video production, filmmaking, and multimedia content development.
- Proven experience in producing accessible audio-visual content (incorporating sign language, subtitles, etc.).
- Prior experience working with UN agencies, development partners, government institutions, or Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
- Strong technical expertise in video production, editing, and post-production.
- Ability to manage end-to-end production processes.
Duration & Location
- Duration: Estimated 5 months, starting in October 2024.
- Duty Station: Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR.
