Community Fishery Project in the Xe Banghieng River Basin, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR
1. Background
The Community Fishery Project in the Xe Banghieng River Basin seeks to enhance freshwater biodiversity and promote sustainable livelihoods through improved natural resource management. The project operates across 16 communities in Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR.
Key activities include:

Establishment of Fish Conservation Zones (FCZs) and Fisheries Management Committees (FMCs)

Assessment of climate change impacts on local fisheries

Development of women-led, climate-resilient alternative livelihoods

Advocacy for co-management best practices in fisheries among CSOs, public institutions, and the general public
2. Aim of the Consultancy
The purpose of this end-line evaluation is to:

Assess the performance and impact of the project from output to impact level

Document achievements, challenges, and best practices
-
Provide recommendations for future similar programs
