Job Description Summary
UNFPA Lao PDR is recruiting a qualified national consultant to carry out a political economy analysis of Child, Early and Forced Marriage CEFM in Lao PDR. The purpose of the consultancy is to generate in-depth analysis and contextual understanding of the political, institutional, legal, social, and cultural factors that influence CEFM practices and policy in the country. The findings will contribute to the development of effective national interventions, programming, and advocacy strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct political economy analysis focusing on CEFM in the Lao context

  • Review laws, policies, and institutional frameworks

  • Identify key actors, influencers, and barriers to change

  • Provide strategic recommendations based on findings

  • Submit a final report with actionable insights

Required Qualifications

  • Lao nationality

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, public policy, gender studies, development studies, or related fields

  • Proven experience in research and analysis related to gender, child protection, or political economy

  • Strong knowledge of Lao socio-political and institutional contexts

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Lao
