Short-term external consultant
The JICA Health Policy Advisor is looking for a short-term external consultant to work with Ministry of Health and Champasack Provincial Hospital for data collection and analysis in the field of Non-Communicable Diseases, particularly hypertension and diabetics.
POSITION: Short-term external consultant
DUTY STATION: Vientiane Capital and Champasak Province
DELIVERABLES:
- Assessment of the quality of diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and follow-up care provided to patients with hypertension and diabetes at Champasak Provincial Hospital
- Development of technical report as well as summary PPT slides in accordance with produced analysis
REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES):
- Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine (MD)
- Master Degree in Tropical Diseases and Public Health
- Work experience in the field of non-communicable and communicable disease fields for at least 3 years
- Work experience in internal medicine, public health working with Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Office, Provincial Hospital, and health related projects
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent Translation and interpretation ability both in English and Lao in official/governmental setting.
- Proficiency in MS office, quantitative and qualitative research skills in health area
- Excellent ability to read and summarize the governmental official documents.
- Ability to work independently as well as ability to work as a team.
EXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION:
4 months from November 2025 through February 2026 (Part-time basis with regular reporting to JICA Health Policy Advisor and MoH)
REMUNERATION:
Candidates are required to submit Estimation together with research proposal (Methodology) at the time of application (*Paid in USD)
