NTPC is currently looking for motivated and qualified candidates interested in the following:
Position: Log & Debris Clearance Technician
Workplace: Sangkeo Village, Gnommalath District, Khammouane Province
Application Submission Deadline: 21 April 2026
Job Purpose: Jointly responsible for clearing logs and debris from NTPC-controlled water surfaces (in coordination with other Log & Debris Clearance Technicians). Operates barges and boats to salvage floating logs and debris, measures and records collected volumes and ensures proper removal and disposal by approved methods. Maintains log and debris clearance tools and equipment according to established schedules and procedures. Performs inspections and maintains log booms, fences, and safety lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Perform log and debris clearance in reservoirs, channels, and related areas
- Inspect, maintain, and install safety infrastructure (fences, log booms, safety lines, warning signs)
- Operate boats and barges to collect, measure, and transport debris
- Maintain tools and equipment, including chainsaws and engines
- Support dam and waterway, hydrology, civil works, and transmission teams in maintenance and vegetation clearance activities.
- Prepare daily reports on activities and work progress
Competency Requirements:
- Education: Certificate or Diploma in Hydro-Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in hydro-safety or similar field
- Skills: Proficient in operating chainsaws and welding machines; experienced in the inspection and repair of 2‑stroke and 4‑stroke boat engines; capable of using computers and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of hydropower operations and maintenance, hydro safety and environmental management
