GEDSI and Feminist Influencing Thematic Lead
Location: Flexible within Cambodia, Lao PDR, or Vietnam

Department Purpose

  • Lead Oxfam Asia’s strategic direction, humanitarian responses, long-term development, and influencing work.

  • Ensure gender justice and feminist principles are embedded across programs.


Team Purpose – Mekong Regional Water Governance Program (MRWGP)

  • Focus: Inclusive and equitable water governance, climate change, water security, social accountability.

  • Funded by DFAT and SDC, covering Cambodia, Thailand, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Myanmar.

  • Program Pillars:

    1. GEDSI & Feminist Influencing

    2. Inclusive Water Resource Governance

    3. Climate Resilient Communities


Job Purpose

  • Provide expert technical guidance on GEDSI across multi-country water governance and climate resilience projects.

  • Lead feminist influencing strategies and GEDSI action plan alignment with Oxfam frameworks.

  • Promote systemic change through regional advocacy, learning, and locally led approaches.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Advise on GEDSI integration.

  • Lead implementation of GEDSI Strategic Framework.

  • Co-design regional GEDSI action plan.

  • Ensure inclusion in research, MEAL, and communications.

Capacity Development

  • Strengthen Oxfam teams, partners, and women-led networks.

  • Facilitate workshops, peer-to-peer exchanges, and training.

  • Support context-specific methodologies for GEDSI integration.

Influencing & Representation

  • Lead advocacy and policy influence regionally.

  • Represent Oxfam in high-level forums.

  • Produce analytical and knowledge products.

  • Maintain external environment analysis related to GEDSI and climate resilience.

People & Partnership Management

  • Oversee staff, partners, consultants for coherent GEDSI delivery.

  • Facilitate knowledge exchange across networks.


Essential Requirements

  • Advanced degree in gender studies, social sciences, or related field.

  • 8–10 years of experience in GEDSI, feminist policy influencing, or rights-based programming.

  • Experience in climate resilience or water governance in the Mekong Sub-region.

  • Strong strategic thinking, influencing, capacity-building, and collaboration skills.

  • Fluent in a Mekong language and high competency in English.
