Position Overview
The M&E Intern will work under the guidance of the Program Quality and Development Manager to support Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) efforts. This internship, based in Vientiane Capital with occasional travel to project sites, provides practical experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting within an international NGO context.
Key Responsibilities
📊 Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Support

Assist in designing and translating data collection tools.

Support data collection (surveys, interviews, observations).

Conduct data entry, cleaning, and basic validation.

Perform preliminary analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data.

Assist in drafting M&E reports, briefs, and presentations.

Maintain organized records of M&E documentation and files.
📝 Program Quality Support

Support compliance with M&E guidelines and quality standards.

Help compile program quality data and learnings from the field.
🤝 Team Contribution

Collaborate constructively with colleagues to support overall goals.

Join monthly team meetings and share M&E inputs.

Comply with Action Education’s policies, including Child Protection Policy.

Qualifications
-
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Policy, Education, or a related field.
Required Skills & Competencies

Basic understanding of M&E processes.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Good written and verbal communication in Lao and English.

Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Interest in data, education, and community development.
