About the Organization

World Vision is a child-focused international NGO working in Laos since 1968. It focuses on health and nutrition, education, livelihoods, WASH, and climate change adaptation for vulnerable children, especially in ethnic communities across rural areas.


Project Background

The Building Resilience and Reducing Rural Poverty Project (BRRRP), in collaboration with ADB and the Government of Lao PDR, aims to reduce food insecurity and climate vulnerability, particularly among women. A key component is a gender-responsive poverty graduation pilot program for rural women in four provinces, combining cash transfers, livelihood grants, skills training, and social empowerment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure gender and social inclusion are embedded in all project activities

  • Review and advise on training content, materials, and outreach strategies adapted for low-literacy and ethnic communities

  • Support development of gender-based violence (GBV) and life skills training modules

  • Co-design training for couples to address gender roles, household finances, and non-violent communication

  • Help develop and monitor an “accelerated support” package for high-performing women entrepreneurs

  • Monitor and evaluate progress against gender indicators, including in household data and the Gender Action and Accountability Plan (GAAP)

  • Build capacity of government and project implementation teams on gender-responsive approaches


Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in gender studies, social sciences, or a related field

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in gender or social development work, with at least 7 years in gender-related roles

  • Proven experience working in Lao PDR
