The Lao First National Youth Forum 2025 is a groundbreaking event that places youth leadership at the center of national dialogue on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) and Sustainable Food Systems. This forum is not just for youth β it is led by youth, with organizational and technical support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. Online Volunteers are entrusted with the responsibility to virtually design, facilitate, and deliver the forumβs sessions, field visits, and workshops. Their leadership will shape the forumβs outcomes, ensuring that youth perspectives, creativity, and innovation drive the national conversation on sustainable agriculture and climate resilience.

Task description
We are seeking the support of 25 Online Volunteers to help us raise awareness and visibility on the Lao National Youth Forum 2025. Selected volunteers will contribute virtually, supporting all activities online. Under the guidance of the organizing team, volunteers will assist with tasks:
1. Pre-Forum Preparation
- Join planning meetings and coordination online sessions.
- Contribute to the design of sessions such as the CSA Game, World CafΓ©, Talk Shows, and Film Festival.
- Help develop communication materials, social media content, or visual displays.
- Coordinate with fellow youth from Laos, Korea, and China to ensure inclusive and diverse representation.
2. During the Forum
- Co-facilitate sessions; Opening and closing segments, Group discussions and workshops, Field visit reflections and outcome presentations
- Serve as online youth moderators, rapporteurs, or media correspondents.
- Support logistics, participant engagement, and documentation remotely.
3. Post-Forum Engagement
- Share lessons learned and promote CSA practices in your community or network.
- Remotely join the ongoing Youth Network on Climate Smart Agriculture for future collaboration.
The tasks will be distributed among 25 Online Volunteers and will be under super visioned of FAO Laos.
Required experience
To ensure the success of this youth-led forum, selected participants should ideally possess the following skills and experiences:
- Experience in leading or coordinating youth initiatives, community projects, or student organizations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and across cultures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Lao and/or English.
- Confidence in public speaking, moderating discussions, or facilitating group activities.
- Experience in storytelling, media, or youth advocacy is a plus.
- Basic understanding of climate change, sustainable agriculture, or food systems.
- Background in agriculture, environmental science, rural development, or related fields (formal or informal).
- Ability to contribute ideas for interactive sessions such as games, talk shows, or multimedia presentations.
- Skills in digital content creation (e.g., video editing, social media, graphic design) are highly valued.
- Experience in planning events, managing logistics, or coordinating volunteers.
- Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to dynamic situations.
- Willingness to participate in pre-forum planning sessions and take on specific roles during the forum.
